How to Create a Team Outing

Ready to play? It’s easy to create a team Outing. All you have to do is make a few choices and we take care of the rest! Let’s get started:

1. Choose a Game

The first thing you need to create a team Outing is to select the game(s) you want to play. Some games, like Poker with Buddies and Hangman, are played together on-screen, while others like Golf Adventures and Candy Jam are single-player that let you compete on a leaderboard within a group. Choose the game(s) you think your team would enjoy the most. Hint: you can add as many games to your session as you want!

2. Schedule the Outing

It’s time to schedule your team Outing. Whether your team is scattered across the office or across the world, the Team Games app lets you get everyone together for fun group activities.

  • First, give your Outing a name. Have fun with it – choose a name that gets the team excited! Greg’s Gaming Gauntlet of Doom, Tuesday Trivia Madness … whatever you want!
  • Then, choose how long your session will be. You can play for as little as 15 minutes or as long as 5 hours, so anytime is game time! Create as many team outings as you like; each can be tailored to your schedule and team preferences.
  • Lastly, choose the time and date and select “Schedule Now” to create your team Outing.

Note: If you enter your email when creating the Outing, you’ll get a special “edit” link that you can use anytime to edit.

3. Invite Your Team

Rally your team!

  • Select Copy Invitation to get a special link to your Outing.
  • Share the invitation link in chat, on your calendar, via email, or whichever way your team prefers to keep in touch.
  • When it’s time to play, team members join the team Outing you created by following the invite link.
  • Alternatively, team members can join the team Outing by entering a passcode on teamgames.gg. To share the passcode, select Copy Passcode once your Outing has been created or find it in your confirmation email.

Hint: For maximum fun and team bonding, we recommend that you also schedule a video call on your favorite services such as Zoom, Skype, Discord, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams.

4. Have fun!

As players arrive, they will enter a Pre-game Lobby. A countdown timer will begin at the scheduled Outing time that can be paused if someone is running late or (Murphy’s Law), that important phone call you’ve been waiting for all day finally comes in just as you’re about to play. Don’t worry, just pause and play when you’re ready!
